Slip Rings with a View!
The center of a rotating axis is always the most desirable spot, since this is where the transmission of electrical current or media is optimal. Therefore SCHLEIFRING builds systems that leave this area free, so that the free inner bore can be utilized for other purposes. We have produced slip rings with free inside diameters ranging from a few millimetres up to two metres.
Slip rings of this kind are indispensable in medical technology. For example, slip rings used in computer tomography (CT) must have a free inner bore of between 1.2 and 2 m so that a human body can pass through the center. Similarly, the inside diameter of the slip ring used as part of the airport baggage scanning system is determined by the size of your suitcase.
