Alongside contacting slip rings for the transmission of relatively low quantities of data, contactless rotary connections, which enable very high data rates to be transmitted digitally, are being used with increasing frequency. These systems are based on patented contactless transmission technology that currently allows transmission of data at rates of up to 40 Gbit/s.
